About Pax Libera

Pax Libera is a text-driven grand strategy sandbox from developer luca-game in which you take charge of any one of 175 countries and steer it through alternate history. You can begin in 1914, 1936, 1985 or 2026 and keep a run going for as long as you like. Rather than clicking through menus, you describe what you want in ordinary language — build up the army, raise taxes on the rich, offer France a trade deal — and the game's own engine turns those orders into concrete figures for your budget, stability, factories, divisions and debt. Each turn covers six months. Press jump and the world moves: you get a report on what worked, what it cost, and how other governments reacted. Rival states are active on their own, signing alliances, arming themselves, attacking the weak and redrawing their regions while you wrestle with your own problems. Political points are the real constraint, giving you somewhere between four and nine actions per turn, so you cannot fix everything at once. If an order cannot be carried out, the game tells you why before any points are spent. The simulation runs locally in a single file: no installation, account or launcher, and it works on a phone and offline. Progress is autosaved, with manual slots and export to a file, and a damaged save is rejected instead of ending your run. AI prose is optional and free when you use it; the core game is complete without it.
