Introduction
Heliophobe is a short 3D adventure from developer nebitula about a small puff creature crossing a set of islands where shade is the only safe ground. Direct sunlight is dangerous: stay in it for roughly a second and you lose one of three lives, then return to the last shaded spot you rested in. The sun moves by itself, changing the shadows cast by walls, trees, and pillars, so progress often means waiting for the right patch of darkness to reach you. When waiting is not enough, you can take control of the sun with Q and E, the mouse wheel, or by dragging it, while managing energy that needs time to recharge. Collect every seed on each island and reach the next one safely. Later islands add wandering lantern wisps, sweeping beams of light, and prisms that focus sunlight. Controls include WASD or arrow keys to move, Space or left mouse to dash, and R to restart an island. The game was made for thatgamejam #02, with light and shadow at the center of its cozy action-adventure design. It is an atmospheric, dark, low-poly, isometric stealth adventure.
