Introduction
Sunset Key, from developer ubalta-pani, drops you into a neon-lit beach city in 1986 with the whole place open to you and nothing to install. It runs in the browser on desktop or phone, and the low-poly 3D look suits the retro setting: palm-lined boulevards, pastel hotels, glass towers and a long coastline. Cars stuck in traffic can be taken right out from under their drivers, and sedans, coupes, wagons, a sports car, a city bus and motorbikes each handle differently. Five story chapters with dialogue begin when Rico greets you off the ferry, and cash from courier runs, races, hit-list jobs and other side work pays for property — a Seaside Bungalow, Neon Loft, Marina Garage or Skyline Penthouse — where you can keep a ride parked. Shops sell food, health, nitro and body armor, five outfits, paint and upgrades, and weapons ranging from fists and a baseball bat to a 9mm pistol, micro SMG, pump shotgun and grenades. Police respond on a five-star wanted scale, on foot and in cars, with roadblocks and a helicopter spotlight. Six hidden ramps and thirty neon tokens reward exploring. Sessions tend to run about half an hour.
