Introduction

HIGHWAY ESCAPE 3D, from developer duskbr, is an arcade racer about refusing to lift off the throttle. There is no upper speed limit: the car keeps building pace for as long as the run lasts, while traffic keeps arriving and police stay in pursuit. Speed drives everything. It raises the score, adds distance, and is what lets the player pull away from the law; back off and the gap shrinks. Braking can avert a collision, but it also hands time to the chase. Crashes cost momentum and stall the engine, which lets the sirens get closer. Near misses charge Ghost Nitro; when fired, it provides a forward blast and lets the car pass through traffic as the screen stretches and blurs at the edges. The camera widens and shakes as speed climbs, engine audio simulates gear shifts, and a speedometer shows the current pace. The pursuit grows harsher as mistakes pile up. Backup units attempt to box the car in, and roadblocks remove two lanes at once, leaving one gap to find. Damage is repaired by driving cleanly or by collecting floating wrenches without easing off the gas. The game is made with Unity and carries tags for 3D, artificial intelligence and Unity. It includes two maps.
